Sourwood Honey is a unique Southern Appalachian delicacy. In the high elevations of the Smoky Mountains, the Sourwood tree blooms for a short time each summer. During this window, beekeepers move their hives into the hard-to-reach mountainous terrain in hopes of capturing some of the sweet nectar. The resulting honey has a more concentrated and rich flavor than the common clover or wildflower honey. Sourwood honey is a bit more expensive because of its difficulty to aquire and the limited supply, but we think you'll agree it's worth it!
